Project Size: 57,600 sq. ft.
Completion: February 2012
GHA was commissioned to design multiple buildings and develop a master plan for the Louisiana Scrap Metal Recycling Facility's campus in Port Allen, Louisiana. The facility will be comprised of 5 buildings totaling 57,600 sq. ft. The campus is anchored by an elaborate Administration Building that appropriately address the public and draws patrons onto the site. This 11,500-sq. ft. two-story building is defined by a multi-layered skin that incorporates shifting wall planes, composite metal panels and translucent polycarbonate sheeting. The campus also contains 3 industrial buildings that accommodates the clients recycling process. Each industrial building incorporates a long span structural design to provide column free expansive space to maximize usable floor area. A 6,000 -sq. ft. maintenance shop allows the owner to service their own equipment and ultimately reducing production expenses.

GHA has made a commitment to the promotion and practice of sustainable design. We encourage all of our clients, regardless of their interest in seeking LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification, to incorporate sustainable materials into their design. This commitment is underscored by the design of our corporate office located on Government Street in Baton Rouge.
Currently GHA's company roster includes three LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED AP): architect Jerry Hebert, intern architect David Hebert and interior designer Ashley Ferrand. Read more >
